Partition blank drive

Is the Windows Vista install routine good for creating multiple partitions and formatting .. or should I use a WinXP disc beforehand .. thanks

Never tried, but here are some recommendations for creating partitions: How do I create a logical partition to install Windows Vista on?
You need to use partitioning software such as Symantec Partition Magic 8 (full version) to do this.

I used Hard Disk Manager 6.0 which is free in July 2006 Computer Shopper magazine. Made a new partition, when It reboots it started with a blank black screen saying something about nor recognising a partition table, then I just switched it off stuck in the DVD with the Vista ISO in it and rebooted, magically the Vista installed without a hitch in about an hour.
Npw when I reboot there is a choice of microsoft windows or an earlier version of windows.
